Karly Gratton, Registered Dietitian & Sports Nutritionist
Owner & CEO of Fuel Up Nutrition

I am food and fitness enthusiast who is committed to leading a happy and healthy lifestyle. I am devoted to helping others build a healthy relationship with food, one that is “diet” free and fun. I believe that everyone has the ability to gain control over their food choices and develop confidence in everyday food decisions. Food is our FUEL and foundation and at Fuel Up Nutrition (FUN) I strive to help others see that ALL FOODS CAN FIT with planning and proper portioning. Many of us already have basic knowledge and understanding of healthy eating, however we often fall short at sticking to it. At FUN I use a behaviour change approach and helps clients with accountability and developing healthy eating habits. Once a knowledge base is set I help clients make lifestyle changes that are sustainable and work LONG TERM. Ditch the meal plan and regimented diet and opt for a sustainable path to lifelong healthy nutrition.

I have an extensive athletic background including: soccer, hockey, volleyball, basketball, distance running, track and field, triathlons, martial arts, and Crossfit. Most recently I completed my first Ironman distance triathlon, a life long dream. I also have past coaching experience at Catalyst Fitness in Sault Ste. Marie. I continue to compete in local recreational sports leagues. I like to lead by example and demonstrate how living a healthy active lifestyle can be sustainable, fun and rewarding.

My education background includes a Bachelors of Applied Science degree in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph. I also completed a comprehensive internship with the Northern Ontario Dietetic Internship Program. I am an active member of College of Dietitian’s of Ontario and Dietitian’s of Canada. In addition, to education in nutrition I has extensive knowledge in strength and conditioning.

As a food and fitness enthusiasts I bring a wealth of knowledge to clients and incorporate my passion of healthy living into counselling. While not at the gym or working with clients I can be found spending time with my family, doing outdoor activities (hiking, swimming, camping, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, boating, snowshoeing, skiing), reading, knitting, catching up on the latest Grey’s Anatomy episode, and crafting simple snack and meal ideas
